Janae was born in Irvine, California and moved to San Diego at the age of three. When she turned 12 years old her family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana. She is currently attending a private Christian high school and preparing herself for college after her graduation in 2012.
Janae was born into a family of musicians, singers and ministers. Her uncle, aunt and cousin sing gospel music locally, and her older brother Bryan is a music producer in southern California. When she was six years old, Janae joined the Children's Choir at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Oceanside, California. Attending church with her family, she sang solos in front of the congregation on Sundays.
Janae has performed at various venues in greater Indianapolis including The Earth House, Urban Element, and the Indianapolis Peace Day Festival, as well as the Southside Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana and other local events. Her favorite musical experience so far is her performance at The Earth House, playing the acoustic guitar and singing her own songs.
Janae's distinctive compositional and performing style comes from her love of many different musical genres. Writing original music and lyrics is the creative activity she most enjoys. While music is her joy, she also enjoys writing poetry and traveling with her family.
While Janae's one greatest goal is to write and perform a hit single that reaches number one in radio airplay, her overall desire is to become a musical artist known and respected throughout the world.
Janae believes, both in terms of musicianship and her career as a whole, that nothing in life comes easy and that there is no such thing as luck; she feels you should always prepare yourself to be successful for anything and everything you desire in life. While her journey has just begun, she is very determined to succeed. Songwriting and performing are her niche and she looks forward to sharing these gifts with the world.
