As I am sometimes a horrifically lazy creature, though diligent in my work (how's that for a bit of an oxymoron?), I now have two demos in my collection. Fun. Inspired by a line of dialogue in a documentary about Soft Cell (and New Romantics in general), I created the song The Young Romantics. I sampled it as well, and added it towards the end of the song. I thought it brought everything together very well. So, here's the lyrics to it. I think they paint a decent picture of New Romantics; I was staring at the peculiar fashions and the clash of dark art and glittering, material optimism.

I like the idea of this contest. The only sad part to me is that it requires a show of vocal ability, which I have not had the chance to quite showcase appropriately due to my inability to sing (well) quietly. If my accented, soft-sung electropop is found to be hard to understand, I've got lyrics to post. In my own opinion, mumbling into the microphone would probably have yielded the same result.
